Beginning with the article "Everything you need to know about Design Systems" I wanted to include the definition of a design system for future reference, "A Design System is the single source of truth which groups all the elements that will allow the teams to design, realize and develop a product". Inside the design system there are 1. Purpose and shared values, 2. Design Principles, 3. Brand identity & language, 4.Components & patterns. In my major we heavily practice documentation so I enjoyed reading the section about strict or loose documentation. I've learned the importance of sketches, writing down ideas, taking screenshots because I want detailed documentation throughout my process, not just the end. In the Atomic Design Methodology, the author illustrated links between design and atomic theory. The comparisons were helpful in envisioning how everything works together from the smallest details to the big picture. Just as in chemistry, there is a hierarchy in design and it's important to understand all of the components in order to produce something cohesive.
